Grey von cannon

Grey Von Cannon uses painting and metalsmithing to create representations of the female form as well as objects to intimately engage with the body. Grey unites fragile sculptures with raw, expressive paintings to explore vulnerability, home and her identity as a lesbian. Grey was born in Greensboro, North Carolina in 1994. Her work has been shown at the Nth Gallery, 3rd Place, HOW Space and The Smith Gallery in Boone, North Carolina. Grey took a leave of absence from Appalachian State University to intern with jewelers Laura Wood and Anna Johnson in Asheville, North Carolina. During that time she attended a jewelry workshop taught by Nicole Jacquard at Penland School of The Crafts. She has a BFA in Studio Art from Appalachian State University and is currently living and making art in New Orleans, Louisiana.
